Challenges

The challenge on this project was to construct an office fitout, reception & customer product showroom facility around an existing production area that had to be kept operational throughout the works. In addition the MV & LT electrical infrastructure serving the entire plant was upgraded whereby the existing five number ESB metered site suppliers were amalgamated into a single MV supply which netted substantial cost savings from an operational perspective.

Successes

The success of the project can be attributed to close collaboration between the client & the design team to deliver an administrative & showroom facility that showcased the innovative medical devices manufactured by Teleflex. The electrical infrastructure upgrade to the entire facility was completed without adversely affecting production.

Metec Solutions

Metec Consulting Engineers carried out detailed surveys of the existing electrical infrastructure that were interwoven throughout the facility and created as-installed drawings that were in-turn used to develop a programme of upgrade/seperation works that were undertaken on a phased basis around the Teleflex manufacturing schedules.

Design

  • The mechanical and electrical engineering services comprises of specialist lighting design for the Conference Rooms, showroom and Board Rooms.
  • Energy efficient simultaneous heating and cooling air conditioning, new fresh air energy efficient air handling unit and associated mechanical ventilation, UPS installation, lift installation, specialist gas installations, IT structured cabling, AV installation, water services, general power systems.
