Horizon Unit D8

Mac Group

Metec were the M&E design Consultant Engineers for this 161,000 sq. ft. logistical warehouse comprising a 2-storey office building within its large envelope.

Challenges

How to deliver an exemplar building and change people's perception of warehouses as simple 'boxes'.

Successes

The building achieved LEED Gold V4 and BER A1 and far exceeded it’s NZEB obligations. This was largely attributed to the extent of solar PV installed at roof level. A total of 313 PV panels with an installed peak capacity of 100kW now provides an estimated annual yield of 92,075kWhr/year of renewable energy.

Metec Solutions

By utilising the latest technologies on the market & by taking advantage of the buildings physical size, the team capitalized on the extensive roof area for PV, thus delivering an outstanding building for our client and rightfully achieves best in class.

Electrical Services
