Aer Lingus Hangar 6 Upgrades

Metec have carried out a number of upgrades to Dublin Airport Hangar 6 for its end user, Aer Lingus. These projects have included comms room upgrades, full fire alarm to both office & hangar space. Full emergency lighting to the hangar space works are also due to commence shortly on the upgrade & replacement of the full heating to the hangar space.

Challenges

Designing Mechanical & Electrical Services to meet the latest regulations and meet current best in class energy efficient design, while adhering to site constraints and working in a live environment.

Successes

By working closely with the local facilities team, the client design teams & contractors; all projects have been delivered within the existing site constraints.

Comprehensive scheduling & constant contact with the client provided minimum downtime for the projects. Our understanding of the specific hangar requirements allowed these works to be completed on-time & on budget. Comprehensive scheduling to minimise downtime, will provide an upgraded life safety system including changeover of main panels, flame detector installation and Intrinsically safe (Ex) fire alarm devices.

  • New Emergency Lighting to meet the various environments from large Ware
  • Houses, to food prep areas and Explosive environments within the hanger space.
  • New Fire Alarm systems to meet the various environments from large Ware

  • New Gas Fired Radiant Panels.
  • Easy use controls to mange above.
