William Murphy
Electrical Engineer
William started his electrical career in 2015, serving as an apprentice electrician gaining experience in a domestic, industrial, & Data centre setting, qualifying with distinction in 2019. Upon completion of the electrical apprenticeship, he returned to college to study electrical services engineering on a part time basis in TU Dublin before joining Metec consulting engineers in 2021. Since joining Metec, William has worked on large scale projects including commercial shell & core projects, office fitouts to a CAT A & CAT B standard, residential projects, retail & leisure projects including 5-star hotels, Theatre spaces and refurbishment work where existing building fabrics are been retained with new electrical infrastructure installed.
Who am I?
Hello, my name is William Murphy. Outside of work, I’m married to Nikita, and have two great kids, Ella Rose (12) & Riley (4) to keep us busy most weekends with football, horse-riding, boxing, girl guides and mini adventures. When we do break away, I enjoy going to concerts and music festivals with friends. Since joining Metec, we have become Leinster rugby fans (Wonder why) and attended our first match at the RDS in May 2024 and are planning more for 24/25! In the past, I participated several fun runs, Croghan hill challenges and Tough Mudder at loughcrew in Meath. This is something id like to get back into in the future and add to our weekend adventures.
