Colm Byrne
Associate Director, Senior Electrical Engineer
Colm has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry. Colm commenced his engineering career in 1995 when he joined McArdle McSweeney & Associates, before moving on to Keaveny Engineering in 2000 and then Axis Engineering in 2005, before settling in to metec engineering since 2018. Colm has a wide variety of expertise in many sectors including education, health, commercial, retail and residential. Colm has a particular expertise in Education projects and during his career has delivered in excess of 35 new and extended school buildings for the Department of Education in all levels from primary to post primary schools and third level colleges/universities. Colm achieved his Engineering degree from DIT Bolton street in Building Services Engineering List.
Who am I?
Outside of metec, Colm likes to play golf and keep fit. When not trying to lower his handicap, he can be seen pounding the highways and byways of Wicklow running or cycling.
Colm has completed many triathlons from the shortest to the longest.
Colm has the distinction in representing his country in two different sporting activities: Triathlon and 10 pin Bowling.
