Hi, my name is Maurice Ramsay. I am a director of Metec Consulting Engineers and a chartered engineer. I got my Degree in Engineering from TCD in 1993 and Master of Science in 1997based on the Geothermal aquifer beneath Trinity College Dublin.
I started my career as a Mechanical Services Engineer with a specialist low-energy consultancy, Conservation Engineering Ltd in 1996, before joining Arup in 2000. I established my own practice in 2005, which I ran until 2017 when we joined forces with Metec.
I have been a director in Metec since 2017 and have helped grow the company from 35 engineers to almost 55 at present.
I have always had a passion for sustainability and energy and indeed reducing the impact on the local, internal and external environment from buildings and their service. I strongly believe that MEP engineers and companies need to advise clients and design teams in all aspects of engineering services and energy – hence our office is and will always be open plan where we can work, collaborate, and share knowledge, ideas, experience and expertise in a productive, creative and innovative environment.
I am married to Olive and we have 3 grown-up girls. We live in Ashford, Co. Wicklow – the Garden of Ireland. I like to golf, hill walk and play more relaxed games like snooker.
I believe it is important to give back to the community, and have been an active member of my local tidy towns committee for 12 years, helping develop a Community Park and Playground and numerous other improvement projects.
